The fifth annual Triathlon of Compassion is now open for online registration. We are thrilled to be the 7th Race in the TriBC Race Series this year, and to announce our fabulous new venue at Esquimalt Recreation Centre!

This means that we are changing our run course - which I know will make many of you very happy! Our bike course will stay the same.

Race Package Pick Up is at Fort Street Cycle on July 12th from 10am-5pm. Your Race Package will inform you of your start time. Bike Check is at Fort Street Cycle, Pacific Rim Cycle (Nanaimo) and Cyclepath (Vancouver) between July 7-12 during business hours.

Please Note: All bikes and gear must be in Transition between 5am and 6am. Transition closes at 6am!!! No exceptions!

We exceeded our fundraising goal of $20,000 for the Victoria Women’s Sexual Assault Centre last year - so we are raising the bar to $25,000 as our goal for 2008!

The event offers prize money for the top three overall male and female categories, as well as a Youth category, AWAD category, Spirit Award, First Triathlon award, and can be completed as an individual or team.

WHAT? The Fort Street Cycle Triathlon of Compassion 500 m swim, 19 km cycle, and 5 km run. Enter as a team or as an individual. Project Respect Youth Race 100 m swim, 6.8 k bike and 1.75 k run.

WHERE? Esquimalt Recreation Centre

WHEN? Sunday July 13, 2008, 6:00 AM

WHY? All pledges go to Victoria Women’s Sexual Assault Centre to support survivors of sexual violence. Proceeds of the race go to Runners of Compassion to support local and global charities.
REGISTRATION: You can register online Eventsonline Registrationor with the Registration and Sponsor Form at Fort Street Cycle or Frontrunners. Regsitration deadline is Saturday July 12th at 4:30pm at Fort Street Cycle. Online registration closes at midnight on July 9th.

This year long training group gives you an outstanding year of multi-sport activities! Start off the year by training for a marathon, trail running, or triathlon event, complete with long runs on Saturday mornings and technical rides on Sundays. Mid May through August join us for lake swims on Wednesday nights. Summer will see twice weekly road rides, 2-3 runs per week, and lots of social events! Fall will take us back to the trails for some “get down and dirty” trail running sessions. Additional activities throughout the year include: rock climbing, mountain biking, hiking, & lots more!
Weekly email schedules will be sent out – to ensure that you don’t miss out on any of the fun!
This is your opportunity to commit to your fitness – for a whole year!
Cost: $500 + GST (includes TRIBC membership)

Tri-VI Half Ironman Clinic is a 6 month conditioning course to train the three disciplines of Triathlon through multiple weekly workouts. The group program will wrap up in the middle of June and then those heading on to Ironman will be provided with a personalized training program to get you ready for the big day. Focus months will be spent on each sport, to prepare you for the a June Half Ironman. Fee includes registration in the Half Marathon clinic with Frontrunners, TRIBC membership, coached lake swims, swim workout schedule, & weekly bike technical sessions.

  • Date & Time: January 12 – June 15
  • Run Workouts: Wed. 5:30 PM & Saturday 8 AM
  • Bike Workouts: Sunday mornings & Thursday nights (Thurs start in March)
  • Swim Workouts: Swim workouts provided to do on your own, Lake swims start in May on Wednesday nights & one weekend day
  • Instructors: Andrea Carey & Mark Schurch
  • Cost: Half Ironman Program $300 + GST (includes TRIBC membership) Ironman Program $450 + GST (includes TRIBC membership)
  • Requirements: Ability to run 1 hour comfortably, swim 500m comfortably, and must have a road bike & approved helmet.
